SADLER, M&M'S LOOK FOR SEASON FIRST WIN AT POCONO
CHARLOTTE, NC (July 19, 2005) -- This weekend the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series returns for the second time in six weeks to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Penn. M&M'S driver Elliott Sadler has seen his fair share of ups and downs in the five races he has run in since posting a 21st place finish at the 2.5 mile tri-oval in June.
In the first two events following Pocono, Sadler posted a pair of top-10s but hasn't cracked the top-20 since with his last two finishes on the books as 37th and 39th. The Virginia native looks to turn his luck in the M&M'S Ford this weekend in the Pennsylvania 500.
Quoting M&M'S Driver Elliott Sadler:
"Until last weekend, this team hasn't gone longer than two races this season without posting a top-10 finish. We know that we're not in as comfortable position as we were when we were here in June but we're the same team we were then. We've had a couple weeks of bad luck with a cut tire at Chicago and then the wreck at New Hampshire but we're still running in the top-10 so we've just got to get a finish there this weekend."
"Our last time at Pocono in June, I don't think our car was as good as we would've hoped. It was pretty tight during the race but I got a couple of speeding calls on pit road and that put us back in 21st spot. I definitely think that we could've finished higher than where we did but we've still got room for improvement this time back."
"There was a lot of concern about the engines and how they were going to hold up without shifting. As always, Doug Yates his guys did an outstanding job. It was a little weird not to shift but I think it's easier on the driver. Again track position has been crucial everywhere we go this year. Last weekend after having some problems on pit road, we started back in the field and drove back into the top-10. That's something we haven't seen a lot of this year. Your car really has to be handling well if you're doing that."

Chef Sadler--Elliott Sadler was one of five NEXTEL Cup drivers featured in this month's Family Circle magazine. Each driver shared one of their favorite recipes with the readers. Sadler's choice was his famous BBQ Chicken and "Brown" Rice recipe. Sadler's skills in the kitchen may not challenge his on track but the M&M'S driver does claim his rice dish is the first to go at family meals.
