Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion, is in sixth place in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series standings heading into this weekend's race at Pocono. Edwards is also the Busch Series points leader and is competing in that series' race in Montreal this weekend.

CARL EDWARDS -- No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion

YOU'RE COMPETING IN TWO SERIES' THIS WEEKEND. WHAT'S THE NEXT 48 HOURS LOOK LIKE? "Right now, barring any weather changes, we're going to run qualifying in the Nextel Cup car, practice the first practice tomorrow morning, and try to make it for the drivers' meeting after qualifying tomorrow and run in Montreal, and then come back here and run in the Cup race on Sunday."

DURING SUCH A LONG SEASON, DOES THE GRIND START TO WEAR ON YOU? "They really make it pretty easy on us. I've got a motorhome parked right over here, I got a good night's sleep last night, and, I was telling people there in Montreal, it's like a big adventure. I get to go to Montreal, a French-speaking, awesome city, and go race cars at a beautiful race track, and I wouldn't trade it for anything."

MONTREAL IS A ROAD COURSE. WHAT TYPES OF CHALLENGES DOES THAT POSE? "A road course has a lot of challenges, but that Montreal circuit has a lot of challenges of its own. It's extremely hard on brakes; that's going to be really tough. You're almost racing through a park, literally, you're racing through a park: trees everywhere, you can't see anything, as far as spotters, they can't see. So, it's going to be a real give-and-take race."

HOW'S THE THUMB? "My thumb's good. They put the old Hurst shifter style in there, the T-handle, in there for me. That's how I'm going to race tomorrow. So, it should be fun."

HOW'S THE CUP CAR TODAY? "The Office Depot Fusion is real good. It's great in race trim. In qualifying trim, I creamed the curb over there and launched the car, but it's still pretty fast."

BRAKES WERE A BIG ISSUE HERE FOR THE LAST RACE. WAS IT FOR YOU? "I haven't run into a brake issue here, but a lot of guys have. I think it depends on how hard you have to race guys. If you're in a pack of cars, no air on the brakes, and you end up having to dive in on people over and over and over, it only takes a couple of laps to really get 'em here."

WHAT MAKES THE TUNNEL TURN SO UNIQUE. "The tunnel turn is unique because it's such a fast corner, it's only a direction change of under 90 degrees. So, it's fun. It's a real quick, fast corner that you have to get just perfect."

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON TONY STEWART'S SUCCESS RIGHT NOW? "That's just somebody who went out and won a couple of races in a row, and is running well. That's pretty awesome. Guys get on rolls like that. We've been on them before and it's a lot of fun."

THERE ARE SIX RACES BEFORE THE CHASE. ARE THERE ANY CONCERNS ABOUT ANY OF THE RACES BEFORE THE CHASE STARTS? "I've grown to really like all the tracks. I don't feel bad about any of the tracks, I'm pretty excited. I feel like we've got a comfortable cushion. As long as we can run well and not have any bad luck, we'll be great."

DO YOU LIKE THE INTERNATIONAL ASPECT OF RACING RIGHT NOW? YOU'VE RACED IN MEXICO CITY AND NOW MONTREAL. "Yeah, I really like the international stuff. I get to go to Montreal, and I've been to Mexico City a few times. When I first started racing, I never thought I'd get to go race at these places and see different countries and different cultures. I think it just adds to it and makes it a lot of fun."

DID YOU GET A CHANCE TO SEE ANYTHING IN MONTREAL ON WEDNESDAY? "Yeah, it was fun. Wednesday we had a media day, and they gave me a couple of hours off and I got to go cruise around down by the river and see some sights. It's a pretty cool place."

HOW MUCH MORE PREPARED ARE YOU TO BE IN THE CHASE THIS TIME AROUND? "I'm way more prepared now as a driver now to race a smart race for points. I'm extremely excited about the Chase."
