RUSTY WALLACE, NO. 2 MILLER LITE DODGE CHARGER
STARTED 13TH, FINISHED THIRD

"I had to make my car pretty wide because Mark was really strong and he was doing a great job. Once I got off of turn one and got down the back straightaway I was okay. This thing had big horsepower under the hood today. I was really getting off of turn three really, really strong, but I couldn't do nothing with the four tires that 97 car had on it. I had two on. That was a great second place finish for us. We gained a lot of points. It was a real sweet week for us.

"I think I could still do it, but that's my last time. That was a really important run in the Chase because I keep approaching every single race like it's the last race. We had a great run today and didn't tear the car up. This is a good shake-down for Indy. This place is real close to Indy and I learned a lot today."

RYAN NEWMAN, NO. 12 MOBIL1/alltel DODGE CHARGER
STARTED FOURTH, FINISHED FIFTH

"A good day for the alltel/Mobil 1 Dodge. Thanks to all the fans for coming out. A big points day for us that will take us into Indy. That three-wide pass late in the race really helped us get a couple of spots. If the hole is there, go for it, see if it works out. I don't like taking risks like that but we had a fast race car and it was capable of running faster than what we were.

We popped a right front tire early on and had to check up in the middle of three. It was unfortunate for him, I feel sorry for him. But he got into the back of me just as I was slowing down and that was it. It knocked my right rear quarter-panel off but did more damage to his car.

JAMIE MCMURRAY, NO. 42 HAVOLINE/TEXACO DODGE CHARGER
STARTED FIRST, FINISHED 11TH

"We were okay. We had an alternator go out so I had to put a battery in. I got into Ryan. I don't know what happened to him but when he let off I killed my nose and messed our day up. Mainly put a battery in and got a pretty good finish. That was good for the Chase. I would say it's pretty tight again. Eleventh isn't good, but it's better than 40th last week. On that first lap, outside just has the advantage. I started on the outside here last time and you just get such a big run. And the 97 had the best car. We were a little too tight in the beginning and the 97 would just give. I'm not sure if this gives us confidence going into Indy, it depends what car we take. We might take this car, we might take something else. We tested there and we were terrible, so we're actually thinking about taking a completely different chassis and body."

STERLING MARLIN, NO. 40 COORS LIGHT DODGE CHARGER
STARTED 25TH, FINISHED 28TH

"The car drove terrible. It pushed all day. We just couldn't get it going all day. We just weren't real good. I couldn't say what the problem was for everybody, just our car wasn't much good. We changed stuff for qualifying and slowed down qualifying and couldn't change it back. We was kind of stuck. We'll just pack it up and head to Indy."

KASEY KAHNE, NO. 9 DODGE DEALERS/UAW DODGE CHARGER
STARTED 15TH, FINISHED 27TH

"We had a car that should have run top five, but had a lot of problems that went on all day long. Then we got up there and it looked like we were going to get a top five out of it. We were able to get into position and we just got taken out. I just got to the outside of the 99, just about clear. The spotter had just said clear. He just ran into our back bumper and turned us into the wall. We could have been top five or maybe even top four, but that's the way it goes."

JEREMY MAYFIELD, NO. 19 DODGE DEALERS/UAW DODGE CHARGER
STARTED 16TH, FINISHED 18TH

"We battled the car all day long. We made a ton of changes on every pit stop. We just couldn't get our Dodge Charger to handle the way we wanted. But, we managed to stay out of trouble. If you aren't going to run up front, at least stay out of trouble and finish the race. That kept us in the Chase, which is what we're focused on right now. "

CASEY MEARS, NO. 41 TARGET DODGE CHARGER
STARTED 42TH, FINISHED 21ST

"Our car was okay today, nothing great, but we're still missing something here. But, we did move up through the field some from where we started at 45th. We hurt the motor in qualifying when I spun it real hard and they wouldn't let us change the motor. We were down a little bit all day. Jimmy made a good call when we stayed out and we got some track position there. At one point we were running inside the top 10. We were out for a long time on a set of tires and toward the end of the race, before one of the last stops where we came and got tires, we were just riding around on ice and lost a bunch of spots. We held them off for a while, but in the end just lost a bunch of spots. We didn't have a problem with the tires, just the wear."

TRAVIS KVAPIL, DRIVER OF THE NO. 77 KODAK DODGE CHARGER
STARTED 40TH, FINISHED 38th

"I don't know what happened out there. We just blew a left front tire. It happened just before the tunnel. The tire never really gave me a reason to think it was going down. It just went flat. We didn't have any problems when we raced here a few weeks ago with front tires. The Kodak Dodge was really tight. We just blew a left front tire. In the process of the tire shredding, it blew the oil line out of the car. A couple of cars had problems with that when we raced here before but we didn't have any problems so we thought we would be just fine. We were actually a little less aggressive than we were before just for precautionary reasons. It's unfortunate. The Kodak guys did a good job and we were just hanging in there and making good adjustments. This is going to hurt. It puts us back a little bit. We'll be able to get back out there but we'll finish the day just riding around. Obviously we're a bunch of laps down and we'll never be able to make them up, so we'll just have to do the best we can and try to learn from it.
