"We picked up a half second from practice. I think Paul Menard picked up about seven-tenths, so it looks like we're a little on the slow slide of the pick-up, but it's a decent run for us, all in all."
JAMIE McMURRAY -- No. 26 IRWIN Industrial Tools Ford Fusion (qualified 25th)
"It wasn't bad. I thought we'd be a little bit faster than that, but that'll probably end up about 20th or 25th. So, we have our work cut out for us on Sunday."
MATT KENSETH -- No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion (qualified 24th)
YOU WERE ABOUT SIX-TENTHS FASTER THAN PRACTICE. IS THAT ABOUT IN THE WINDOW YOU WERE LOOKING FOR? "Yes and no. You always hope to pick up from practice, but yet you always have to gauge what everybody else does from practice to qualifying, and compared to everybody else, the good guys all picked up more than that. So, we'll probably end up about where we were in practice.
DAVID RAGAN -- No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (qualified 39th)
"I messed up through the tunnel turn, and turned a lot better than it had in practice and I just ran up on the curb, and probably cost us a good two- or three-tenths. It's a mistake on my behalf, but still a little better than we ran in practice. We've got a pretty good race car, qualifying won't show, but hopefully tomorrow during Happy Hour we can get it adjusted a little bit."
HAVE YOU EVER RACED HERE BEFORE IN ANOTHER SERIES? "Yeah, two years ago we ran the ARCA race here."
WHAT CHALLENGES DOES THIS TRACK PRESENT TO YOU? "It's not your typical track, so you have to go about changing things a little different, certainly driving styles are a little different, and it can be the normal tight and loose here, but this place has got a lot of bumps, and every corner is a little different, so it's kind of like Phoenix or something, but you're going 180, 190 miles an hour getting into the corner. So, it's a fun race track. I really like it. I really hate that I messed up on that qualifying lap, but other than that I think we've got us a good car and we'll be all right for the race."
RICKY RUDD -- No. 88 Snickers Ford Fusion (qualified 30th)
"It's disappointing because we had run well in practice, but looking back at practice we were in qualifying trim every run, and when we were at the top of the board a lot of guys were in race trim, so it made it look a bit better than what it was. Compared to where we've been, it's not bad. We're going to end up somewhere on the left side of the board, hopefully. Too tight. What happened and got us kind of messed up, we made a simulated qualifying run and got really loose all of a sudden. We got looking at the tires and we thought maybe it was the tires, maybe it wasn't, so we made some chassis adjustments to compensate for that bad set of tires, it turns out, and the set of tires wasn't any good. The car was just too tight in qualifying."
BILL ELLIOTT -- Little Debbie Snack Cakes Ford Fusion (qualified 38th)
"We gained a ton, we just needed more time. It was just flat-out where I needed more time. It's just hard to come to these places. We're having just a little bit of miss, a few little things happened there right off in practice and got started late, and then that just spilled over into everything else. But, we gave it our best shot."
DAVID GILLILAND -- No. 38 M&M's Ford Fusion (qualified 16th)
"This is my first time here. It's neat. It's cool. I've watched this race on TV for a long time, and was real nervous about coming here for some reason. I haven't been this nervous about coming to a race track that I haven't been to, and for some reason I was plenty nervous about coming here -- but, real excited. Our M&M's Ford Fusion, we need a good run, a good shot in the arm and a good boost for the team. It's the best we've qualified in a while. We've been kind of in a slump, but we have Kevin Buskirk back and Todd Parrott, and everybody is working real hard at trying to get our program turned around at Robert Yates Racing. So, it's a lot of hard work."
NOW THAT YOU'VE SEEN THIS TRACK, WHAT CHALLENGES DOES IT PRESENT TO YOU? "It's a lot of challenges. It's so hard, because all of the corners are so different that I have a hard time -- Todd says, 'Don't worry about one and two'; I keep saying one and two (for turn one), three and four (for turn two), you know what I mean? And Todd says, 'Do you think this track has six corners?' Just little things like that that you don't think of. You know, you race every week on tracks that have four corners and this one has three and it makes it kind of tough, the communication thing. But, we're working on it."
