Here are some notes on Ford teams and the cars they will be running this weekend:

Rusty returns to Pocono hoping to finish what he started last month...has the same car he had four weeks ago that sat on the pole and set the track qualifying record (171.625 mph) ...Rusty led four times for a race-high 107 laps of the 200-lap feature, but ended up 10th after deciding to take four tires on his final stop while most of the other contenders took two ...this will be the third career race for PC-22, which debuted earlier this year at California and finished 8th.

Martin had not posted a top-10 finishes in five straight races until his fifth-place run at Pocono last month... since then he has not been outside the top-five, finishing 3rd at Sears Point, 4th at Daytona, and 3rd at Loudon... Martin will run the same car he had here at Pocono last month (JR-52) ...car ran for the first time this year at Atlanta and finished 3rd...also competed at Dover and finished 36th after blowing an engine on lap 269.

Compton is less than 100 percent this weekend after hitting the wall during Ford's Indy test session on Monday...had a right-front tire go down entering turn three and suffered two broken bones in his left wrist ("snuffbox")...has a half cast in place for stability, but doesn't anticipate any major problems driving this weekend...has the same car he finished 29th with at Loudon two weeks ago and 37th with at Pocono last month. 11 BRETT BODINE

Bodine has brought back the same car he ran last month at Pocono, but the team has made major gains with it since that 32nd-place finish...took the car to Indy for the Ford test session earlier this week and the car ran better than the primary one...if it performs well this weekend there's a possibility it could go back and race in the Brickyard 400 next month.

Mayfield last-lap move on Dale Earnhardt to win the Pocono 500 is still a topic of discussion as he won his second event at Pocono and third of his NWC career...despite that win the team has decided not to run the same car this weekend...the car that won is here, but it's in the hauler and serving as the backup this weekend... instead, Mayfield will be piloting a car that was raced for the first time in The Winston...car was up front until Mayfield lost third gear and was forced to retire...has not raced since that evening.

Lepage briefly led twice last month here at Pocono before hitting the wall and finally finishing 26th...damage has been repaired and the same car is returning for this race...this will be its seventh event of '00 and eighth overall...car's claim to fame came in its debut last year when it took Lepage to the first NWC pole of his career at Atlanta in the final race of '99.

This will mark the second time Kenseth has raced this car, but he has used it in a couple of test sessions...car ran its only race in Atlanta and finished 40th after blowing an engine...has tested the car at Las Vegas and here at Pocono earlier in the year...even though it tested well, team opted to run a different car which finished 14th.

Sadler has posted back-to-back top-20 runs and will try to improve on his 16th-place Pocono finish from a month ago with the same car...this will mark the third time for this Taurus in '00...ran for the first time at Las Vegas and finished 41st...car actually debuted last year at Homestead and finished 18th.

Spencer would like nothing better than to win in front of his home fans and he hopes to do that with the same car he ran at Charlotte in May for the Coca-Cola 600...qualified 11th and finished 25th for that event...car also raced at Martinsville and finished 28th.

Rudd has finished in the top five in 6 of the last 9 races, including a 3rd-place run here at Pocono last month...will race the same car he had in that event this weekend as he looks for his first win with RYR...Rudd knows this car extremely well because it was part of his fleet last year when he was driver/owner of the 10 car...this will mark the car's 3rd race of '00 after running 22nd at Martinsville (was spun during late stages) and 3rd here...car raced a great deal down the stretch in '99 (Martinsville, Loudon, Richmond, Darlington, Phoenix and Homestead).

Pruett broke this car in at Charlotte in May as he drove it in both The Winston Open and Coca-Cola 600...qualified 26th for the Coca-Cola 600 and finished 41st after being hit from behind and crashing into the wall...this will mark Brad Parrott's second race as crew chief.

DW told his team he wanted a new car for Loudon, so they built him one...Waltrip was so pleased with the car that they decided to bring it here for this weekend as well...did not qualify for last month's Pocono event, but the difference this time around is that he has a provisional if he needs it.

Dallenbach has been bitten by bad luck the last month, but he hopes to turn that around this weekend and improve on his 39th-place finish here last month...was the first car to experience problems last month saying he felt a tire was going down and then found himself backwards... did not bring back that same car, opting instead for the one he drove in The Winston Open at Charlotte. 77 ROBERT PRESSLEY

Pressley has realized some success with this car...ran it for the first time at Atlanta and qualified 12th (finished 33rd) and ran 26th at Texas one month later...car competed here at Pocono as well in June and moved up from his 28th-place starting position to 11th. 88 DALE JARRETT

Jarrett has raced this car a number of times in '00 and has nothing but top-10 finishes...is the same car that competed in the first Pocono race, starting 4th and finishing 2nd...car also ran at Charlotte, where it started 8th and finished 5th, and Michigan, where it started 26th and finished 4th...marked as car No. 66.

Berrier needed a provisional to make the first Pocono race, but crew chief Dean Johnson thinks he's made some improvements and has brought the same car back to the track this weekend...Berrier managed a 28th-place finish and followed that up with a season-high 26th-place showing at Daytona.

Elliott has been primarily racing four cars this season, but this week he's trying something a little different...this chassis was built last year, but has not raced so far in '00...the team normally names its cars, but this one has not developed a personality yet, according to team members, so it's still waiting.

After getting caught up in an accident with Terry Labonte at Loudon two weeks ago, Little will try to rebound with the same car he had here at Pocono a month ago...started 37th and finished 17th that day...car also ran in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte and finished 20th. 99 JEFF BURTON

Burton will be driving car No. 24 this weekend, which happens to be the same one he finished 7th with here at Pocono last month...car made its '00 debut at Dover in June and qualified 14th...struggled in the race, however, finishing 34th...has only two top-10s in the last seven races, but one of those was a victory at Daytona in the Pepsi 400.
