C&J Energy Services Giving 'Energy' to Labonte and Phoenix Racing First of Three-Race Sponsorship for Corpus Christi, Texas Company
Spartanburg, S.C. (October 19, 2010) - Back behind the wheel of the No. 09 Phoenix Construction Chevrolet, Labonte and Phoenix Racing are prepared for Sunday's Tums Fast Relief 500 event at the .526-mile Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.
This will be the first of three races that C&J Energy Services will serve as the primary sponsor for the No. 09 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet. With over 320 laps led at Martinsville Speedway, and a Hendrick prepared engine under the hood, Labonte is well prepared for this weekend's event.
Labonte will be making his 36th career start this weekend at Martinsville. He has one win, six top-five and 13 top-10 finishes at Martinsville. With an average start of 18th and an average finish of 17th, Labonte is seeking to give Phoenix Racing and C&J Energy Services a strong run.
Comments from Bobby Labonte on C&J Energy Services and Martinsville Speedway:
"This weekend is really special for me. C&J Energy Services is going to be on board the No. 09 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet and we are very pleased to have them. The folks there have been close family friends of the Labonte's for many years, and I am looking forward to giving them a great experience in NASCAR.
"We are hoping to set a good precedent for them this weekend at Martinsville in their first race. A good run here can carry over to Phoenix and Homestead where they will be the primary sponsor as well. This is their first endeavor into our sport. We just want to give them a good showing. I'm glad that they giving us the resources to run well at Martinsville.
"Martinsville is a unique track. It's a little drag racing, a little bumping and banging and whole bunch of frustration if you're not leading. You usually do not come out of there without some sort of damage. Patience is a must, and 500 laps can make for a long afternoon. Hopefully, we'll have a good qualifying run and be in good track position all day.
"This Phoenix Racing team has been great and we are really growing together as a team. We're going into this weekend with some resources from Hendrick Motorsports. That always helps. I enjoy the track and this race too. We just feel like we have some positive momentum heading into this weekend."
