"I have missed the camaraderie and competition with the guys on the No. 45 Wells Fargo Dodge team. It's going to be great to get to go to Phoenix with them this weekend. They've been doing a nice job with Chad over the last couple of months. Even though I've been out of the car, I still travel to all of the races and I see how hard these guys are working. They have a lot of desire and determination, which will go a long way as we get this team turned around."
"Phoenix is up this weekend and I have always liked racing out there. A lot of the tracks that we go to are so similar, but Phoenix is pretty unique. Each end of the track is different and they usually get sunlight at different times. That really forces you to pick an end that you want to work on and then find a compromise for the other. The dogleg on the backstretch can get exciting too. Wells Fargo also has a huge presence in Phoenix, so it is cool to race in front of all those employees."
"For whatever reason, we've generally done well in the 'fall' race at Phoenix. We haven't qualified all that well there and we'll need to put down a good lap to make sure we're in the show, but we usually have a pretty good car when the green flag is dropped. Phoenix is similar to Richmond in a few ways. We had a really fast car at Richmond a few months ago. The finish didn't show it, but we were one of the fastest cars on the track during the middle portions of that race. If we can get our car handling the way it was at Richmond we will be in good shape for this weekend.
