JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 8th

"It was good, but we were better yesterday. We bottomed out a little bit. Yesterday something was keeping us from bottoming out. We weren't hitting nothing. We got a good lap, and that should give us a good starting spot. I feel real good about the race. We had a great test out here and all we did was in race trim. We didn't work on any qualifying stuff. We'll probably end up in the top 15. It's kinda hard to pass here, but we've got a good handling car and that's what it takes to pass. We'll be all right."

STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 30th

"Loose, loose, loose. It wouldn't turn yesterday and we changed up a lot of things today on it. I think once we get the tape off the grille and get it ready to race we'll be in good shape. The track is a lot different today. It's got a lot more grip. The car actually turned today. Yesterday it wouldn't turn. We'll get it freed up and get the tape off and it'll be OK. We didn't test here, and this is a brand new car. The guys worked hard on it yesterday trying to get it right, and we just never could get it going right. We didn't qualify that well, but I think we'll be fine. It feels good getting those two good finishes and moving up to sixth in the points. Now we've got to get to fifth and keep climbing and make The Chase."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 14th

"It was pretty loose in the center and off. We should have been a little faster than that. I got a little loose in turn three and lost a good bit of time. I think we've got a good car. I think if we take some tape off it might be good in race setup. We were close to having it where it needed to be yesterday. If we can make some changes and get it going in the right direction, I think we'll be pretty good."

KYLE PETTY (No. 45 Georgia-Pacific/Brawny Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 39th

"That's the first time we qualified. We never taped up or put on new tires since we've been here. Our race stuff is really good. I'm probably more pleased with the race stuff with this car than I've been all year long. As bad as some of these cars are driving, it'll be easy to pass, so it really doesn't matter where we start."

TRAVIS KVAPIL (No. 77 Kodak/Jasper Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 23rd

"That's not at all what we had yesterday. The car was really solid yesterday, and I was confident we were going to pull off a good lap. The track is a lot different, but we anticipated gaining grip. We lost grip off the corners. It's disappointing, but I feel like we've got a great car for tomorrow night. I guess that's what really matters."

JAMIE McMURRAY (No. 42 Home 123 Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 33rd

"That wasn't a very fast lap. We were hoping for more, but that's what we got and now we're stuck with it."

RUSTY WALLACE (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 9th

"We've got a good car. We were loose qualifying. The first lap wasn't good, but the second lap came around big time. We were just a little too free getting into turn three. I thought it would be better than that, but we'll see how it turns out. We feel like we're good. Let's get this race started tomorrow night and see exactly what this hot rod is going to need to win. The track was in good shape. I was just too loose on my first lap. I slid around, but the second lap was totally different."

JEFF GREEN (No. 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 36th

"I slid around. We've been fighting grip since I've been here. I think I can slide around with them, but I can't go fast for a lap. We'll have to work on it and see what we can do for tomorrow. We made one qualifying run at the end of practice. We had been practicing all day in race trim, so that was about as good as I could expect it to be. I think we'll be better in the race, but you want to get the best qualifying spot you can to get a good pit selection. We'll have to make up for it and see what we can do in the race. I think we can pass. If you've got a good car you can get underneath them and pass."

CASEY MEARS (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 31st

"It was just bad. We were way off from where we were here last year. We had a really good car then. We'll see what we can do. We're not horrible, but we're not good at all. I don't know what we did different from last year, but we need to get back to the way we were."

RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 ALLTEL Dodge Charger) -- Qualified 7th

"It wasn't bad. I was just trying to get a little too much out of it. We struggled coming to the green flag and that hurt the first lap. I just tried to get too much out of it coming off turn two on the second lap and that was it. We'll take every pole we can get. If we don't get it, we'll keep trying. It's not easy passing here, but I think we've got a car that's going to be real good in race trim. Handling will be the key. It's always the key. I'm proud of saving the car, but I'm not proud of what I did. We'll go on. We've got a good car. It's disappointing because we had a shot at winning the pole, but we'll have more shots."
