UPS Racing Team Notes of Interest

* Reutimann will need to qualify his way into Saturday's Subway Fresh Fit 500 on speed after an engine failure at Texas left the #44 Team outside the top-35 in owner point standings.

* Reutimann has one Sprint Cup start to his credit at Phoenix, April 2007, where he started from the 32nd position and finished 25th.

* In the Nationwide Series, Reutimann has a pair of 12th-place finishes to go along with two top-10 finishes in three Craftsman Series Truck starts.

Reutimann Discusses Racing at Phoenix International Raceway

Reutimann on racing at Phoenix--

"Phoenix is a pretty fun race track. As a driver, it's great because it's different than a lot of the tracks that we visit during the year. What's good for us is that we had a chance to test at PIR this year in March so Ryan and I can look back at those notes and have something to work off of heading into this weekend. It doesn't necessarily put us at an advantage since all of the teams tested but we have a strong baseline to hopefully unload with and get this UPS Toyota into the race on Saturday."

On racing under the lights--

"Absolutely. Racing under the lights is a lot of fun, not just for the drivers, but for the fans as well. The trick with this race is that it starts under daylight, or as the sun is starting to set, so that can present a problem sometimes because the sun can be directly in your eyes. You've got a couple tricks you can use in the car to help prevent it, but it just adds another thing you've got to deal with."

On being outside of the top-35 in owner's points after an engine failure in Texas--

"Texas was extremely disappointing. Again, this team showed how good they are with our performance in practice and qualifying so to walk away with another DNF and fall farther outside the top-35 is extremely frustrating. It seems we can't buy a break right now. We were on track to have a finish that looked like it would've put us in the top-35 and then the engine let go and we finished 41st. The pressure is on again for us to qualify. The farther we fall behind those top-35 guys, the stronger of a finish we need to get back inside so we'd definitely like to make up some ground up this weekend."
