CONCORD, NC - Steve Park in his new ride, the RCR No. 30 Chevy landed the pole for Saturday's Winston Open at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The Open precedes The Winston, and is the wild-card event for all drivers' who did not meet the eligibility requirement for The Winston All-Star event.

"I'm telling you man, I don't know what to say," said Park. "Just real thankful for Richard Childress and all the people at RCR, America Online. Pretty awesome, a good way to start.

"We've got a great race team..I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Sometimes change is good."

The Open is a thirty-lap shoot out, broken up into two segments. The first 20 laps segment will see the top fourteen placing cars advance into the second section. The last segment is a 10-lap battle to the checkered flag.

The winner of the Winston Open joins the field of The Winston.

Rounding out the top five are Todd Bodine, Jimmy Spencer, Mike Wallace, and Kenny Wallace.
