Ontario County Sheriff Povero: 'Investigation will take at least two more weeks'

The investigation seemed to be nearing a close, but it's now been revealed that it will take up to 14 more days.

The investigation into the tragic death of Kevin Ward Jr. has hit the three week mark and it has yet to reach a conclusion.

Today, we've learned that the highly publicized investigation is going to take at least two more weeks, according to a release from the Ontario County Police Department. We recently informed that they were 'finishing up,' but they did not state a specific timeline at that point.

The release also says, "The Ontario County Office of Sheriff has reviewed this investigation, as it has been developed to date, with members of the District Attorney’s Office. The Office of Sheriff will continue to apprise the District Attorney of information as it is developed."

Sheriff Povero ended the release by stating that media outlets will be notified upon the investigation's completion.
