Frontier at the Glen set for 1999
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Nov. 17, 1998) Frontier Corporation and Frontier Cellular are revving up to sponsor the 'Frontier at the Glen' NASCAR Winston Cup Series event at Watkins Glen International the weekend of Aug. 12-15, 1999. The event was formerly known as the 'the Bud at the Glen. Watkins Glen President Bryan R. Sperber and Frontier President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph P. Clayton revealed the new three-year agreement at Frontier's national headquarters in Rochester, N.Y.
"This partnership between Frontier, Frontier Cellular, and Watkins Glen is a perfect fit," said Clayton. "Frontier's communications services are fast, focused, and on the cutting edge. Those same traits have characterized NASCAR racing for many years. We're proud to be affiliated with Watkins Glen and the NASCAR Winston Cup Series."
Watkins Glen International expects to attract thousands of people from across the country and Canada for the 'Frontier at the Glen' weekend.

This announcement complements Frontier's other sports-marketing ventures including the national college basketball and coach of the year awards, in addition to the naming rights at Frontier Field in Rochester. In the past, Frontier has also sponsored PGA Tour golfer Corey Pavin. Specific details about the the 'Frontier at the Glen agreement were not disclosed.
