Marlin's Pit Crew Wins in New Hampshire

The pit crew for Sterling Marlin won the McDonald's Drive-Thru Pit Championship fueled by POWERade in Sunday's Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway.

It was the second time this season that Marlin's crew earned the $20,000 weekly prize - the team's other win was at the March race in Bristol, Tenn.

In the McDonald's/POWERade point standings, Elliott Sadler's pit crew remains in the lead and the chase for the $200,000 bonus which will go to the season champion. After 27 races, Sadler's crew enjoys a 26-point lead -- 977 to 951 -- over the pit crew for Dale Earnhardt Jr. Kevin Harvick's crew, a non-winner so far in 2004, is third with 937 points.

Marlin's No. 40 Coors Light Dodge spent the least amount of time on pit road in New Hampshire - 169.138 seconds. Michael Waltrip's No. 15 NAPA Chevrolet came in second with a time of 172.124. Harvick's No. 29 Goodwrench Chevy was third at 180.261.

"The Coors Light crew did a great job getting me in and out of the pits," said Marlin. "The guys work hard week in and week out and I am proud of them for winning the McDonald's/POWERade pit crew competition this past weekend."

Marlin's over-the-wall crew consists of Steven Wolfe (front-tire changer), Trent Davis (front-tire carrier), Barry Boeckenstedt (rear-tire changer), Tim Shore (rear-tire carrier), Mark Jacobs (jackman), Randy Hildreth (gasman) and Mike Motil (catch can). The team's crew chief is Lee McCall and the pit crew coach is Phil Horton.
