Sadler's Crew Collects 4th Win of Season With Indy Victory

Elliott Sadler's pit crew took first place honors in Sunday's Brickyard 400, scoring its fourth win of the season in the McDonald's Drive-Thru Pit Championship fueled by POWERade.

The four victories for Sadler's crew, which have come in the last seven races, lifted the team's earnings to $80,000 -- $20,000 for each win. The other victories for the No. 38 crew were at Michigan, Sonoma and Chicago.

Sadler's and Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s crews continue to wage a tight points battle that will pay the McDonald's/POWERade season champion $200,000. After 21 Nextel Cup races, Sadler's crew is five points ahead of Earnhardt's crew - 767 to 762. Lurking in third is Tony Stewart's crew with 731 points.

Sadler's M&M's Ford spent the least amount of time on Indianapolis Motor Speedway's pit road, beating its Robert Yates Racing teammate -- Dale Jarrett's No. 88 UPS Ford. Sadler's car was clocked at 211.980 seconds while Jarrett's car was nearly six seconds off the pace at 217.693. Earnhardt's No. 8 Budweiser Chevy was third at 234.223.

"Both our pit crews are performing well right now," said Eddie D'Hondt, general manager of Robert Yates Racing. "For the No. 38 M&M's team to win this award for the fourth time in seven weeks, is just incredible. They are hitting their stride at the right time of the season as they build upon their lead in the chase for the McDonald's / POWERade championship. I am very proud of our guys, Elliott and (crew chief) Todd Parrott and I don't see us letting up the rest of the year. It takes track position and the whole package to run in the top 10 in points all year long and the M&M's crew is bringing it, every week. They are awesome."

Sadler's over-the-wall crew consists of: Darryl Lockyer (front-tire changer), Kevin Hall (front-tire carrier), Dave Smith (rear-tire changer/car chief), Lance Hanna (rear-tire carrier), Rodney Fetters (jackman), Preston Cordell (gas man) and Jay Thompson (catch can). The team's crew chief is Todd Parrott.
