RICHMOND, Va. - Two-and-a-half weeks after a severe practice crash at Richmond International Raceway, thirty-two year old driver Jerry Nadeau is alert and communicating verbally. Nadeau, who suffered a moderate to severe head injury, broken scapula, and rib injuries remains in a Virginia hospital and is undergoing rehabilitation.

Doctors at the Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital have classified Nadeau as "medically stable" and say he continues to show improvements.

Jay Frye, team manager at MB2 Motorsports visited with Nadeau this week and was thrilled with the improvements he is making.

"The difference since the last time I saw Jerry was incredible," Frye said. "He is more responsive, more alert and following commands with more consistency. It was an emotional and wonderful feeling when he made the first move to shake my hand.

"He was hugging and kissing his daughter and had pizza for dinner. It is really remarkable to see how far he has progressed in a short time."
