BURTON ON MICHIGAN--
"We need to go to Michigan and do the same things we've been doing the past several weeks. With the exception of Dover when we had the heat exchanger fail, we've been running very competitively and getting the finishes we need. We've put together a string of consistent, strong runs since Richmond. We need to continue what we've been doing, getting the car to handle good, not having equipment failures and not wrecking and we'll build our get back -here we need to be. Frankie and I know the deal, we don't expect to run in the top five every week, but we need to run in the top 15. That's where we are right now as a team and as long as we all know that and we are all working to make it better in the long run, we won't get frustrated. We're not going to set our expectations too high, we're just going to keep working on rebuilding the team and making us more consistent every week. We'll work to get the car decent enough and get the aero and handling good enough to have a solid run and that will produce a good race for us on Sunday. I like the track, it's fast and there is a lot of room."
STODDARD ON TOP 10 RUN AT POCONO--
"I'm very pleased with the way we ran at Pocono. It was a challenge to get the car handling after absolutely no practice in race setup, but we were able to get the #22 handling pretty well. I feel like with our fuel economy and our pit strategy, we had a very good chance to win that race. And if we hadn't lost fourth gear, I feel like we would have, but I am pleased with an eighth-place finish."
* The Caterpillar team goes to Michigan International Speedway with car 66, the same car they ran at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Burton started 41st and finished 10th, his second top 10 finish of the season.
* Ward Burton will spend Tuesday in Daytona Beach, Fla., participating in a media event that consists of interviews with several media and a side-by-side driving experience on the beach with Sterling Marlin. The purpose of the event is to give a history of the Pepsi 400 and demonstrate how racing began on the beach. Burton will dress in a 1950's period outfit and drive a Plymouth Roadster, while Marlin will be dressed in a uniform and drive a racecar from the current era.
