JEREMY MAYFIELD QUOTES
On last year's win- "We knew Michigan was a fuel mileage track. Everybody knows that going in. If you don't have a fuel strategy, you're not playing the game very well. We won the race. We played by the rules and ran the car like we needed to run it to win. I saved gas and the guys calculated the mileage. If we didn't save gas and had gone with a fuel mixture to make power, we could probably have run up front all day. But that would have meant another pit stop. We were smarter than that. They ran out. We didn't."
On this year's strategy. "We may change our strategy this year. If teams play it this weekend like we did last year, we may do the opposite and go for power and hope the cautions don't go their way. It's a chess game all the time. Things are changing every day in the sport. You have to be open minded. You can't come to a race thinking about what you've done in the past. The setup we won with last year may not get us in the field this year."
