STATESVILLE, N.C -- Richard Petty Motorsports visits Michigan International Speedway this weekend with plans to continue its streak as the only four-car team without a DNF--did not finish-- in the 2009 points races. The two-car team of Stewart-Haas is the only other team to avoid a DNF this year. The Petty streak stretches to 140 starts without a DNF. Kasey Kahne's DNF at Martinsville on Oct.19 was the team's last.

No. 43 Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Dodge driver Reed Sorenson proved at Watkins Glen the value of avoiding a DNF after an accident. Sorenson made up three spots on the final lap despite trailing the leader by more than a dozen laps because of time spent in the garage fixing his car. Sorenson visits Michigan this weekend with a different look. His team will include veteran crew chief Sammy Johns and the crew who worked with Richard Petty Motorsports teammate AJ Allmendinger this season. Sorenson's Mike Shiplett-led crew will move to Allmendinger's car.

DNF STREAK-- "That's cool. Look what happened Monday at Watkins Glen. I got crashed, eventually had to go behind the wall. We sat there working on the car for what seemed like a long time. They got me back out and on the final lap we gained three spots. That's pretty awesome. That's why NASCAR is a team sport."

MICHIGAN-- "We kind of look at it as a fresh start. Sammy has a ton of experience and a lot of knowledge that I hope to use. We have 14 races left and a lot of work to do. This team can run really well and we'd like to show that this weekend in Michigan."
