TALK ABOUT YOUR LAP. YOU WERE THE FASTEST GUY IN PRACTICE, HERE TODAY AS WELL.
"So far it looks good. Our Dodge Dealers UAW Dodge Charger was fast. These guys have done a good job. We've been off this year and we just keep testing and keep practicing. The guys at the shop are trying to figure things out and so far this weekend, we have a great package. We're just looking forward to tomorrow and keep trying to get the car better for the race. If this holds up in the top 5, that would be great."
YOU LIKED THE LAP?
"Yes. I loved the lap. The way we went, we picked up two tenths from what we did in practice today and the track was about three degrees hotter. It was a good pick up. We made the right adjustments. These guys are doing a great job. Testing and everything we have been doing all season long is hopefully starting to pay off. We were behind and hopefully now we'll start turning it around. Definitely qualifying stepped it up and in the last month we have been better at qualifying. This is another improvement and we just need to keep working on Saturdays and Sundays."
IT DOESN'T HURT THAT YOU'VE WON HERE BEFORE.
"We've won here, and have had poles here. I feel like this is a great track to turn things around because of our success as a team. We've ran good here in Busch cars too. It's a good place for us. Hopefully it will be a good race and get some momentum heading into Bristol and California and finish the race off a lot stronger than what we've done so far."
WHAT'S THE KEY TO RACING HERE AT MIS?
"Just keeping your speed and keeping your momentum around the track. It's so wide. There is a lot of speed here, but if you get bogged down a little bit, it kills you. You have to keep the speed up. Keep the RPMs up and having a great race car is the only way you can do that."
