Matt Kenseth's thoughts on going back to Michigan:
"You have already run Michigan once this year and did fairly well. What do you think your chances are of success the second time around? "I like Michigan a lot. It's fast and we usually do pretty well on the 1 mile and 1.5 mile tracks. Last race in the spring we got really good fuel mileage and if a caution didn't come out, we would have been a top five. I think we have a good shot at a top five this time. Plus, this will be the fifth time I have run a Winston Cup car there and I'm hoping experience will help, too."
Will running the Busch race on Saturday help you with the Winston Cup race on Sunday? "Well, the Busch car is a Chevy and the Cup car is a Ford, so there are some differences. Running the Busch race sometimes helps me see what the track will do on longer runs. We have done pretty well there in the Busch series so again, it's a track where I'm comfortable."
Is there added pressure because Michigan is car manufacturer country? "We always want to do well at every track, but it's always nice when you can perform well in front of your manufacturer. Roush Industries is also located in Michigan so we all want to make a good showing for our owners."
Crew Chief Robbie Reiser's thoughts on Michigan:
"We are going to take car number 15 to Michigan. It seems like since Indy this team cannot even catch a break. What we need is a little luck on our side going into Michigan."
On Thursday, August 23rd, Kenseth will be in DEWALT country, as he will appear at the Orgill Show at the Convention Center in Baltimore from 2:30-4:30pm.
