JEFF GREEN (No. 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge) -- Finished 7th

"It was a great call by Greg (crew chief Steadman) to go with two tires at the end. That was a great call because tires really didn't matter too much. I'm so proud of the team for standing in there. It's a great day for everyone on this team. We had a good qualifying run on Friday, and the car was pretty good in practice yesterday. We knew if we could stay out of trouble we'd have a good day. We didn't completely stay out of trouble, but this is Martinsville man. We'll try to build on this run for the final four races and take it into next season. Maybe by the time we come back to Martinsville next year it won't be a big surprise when we get a top 10 finish."

GREG STEADMAN (Crew Chief No. 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge)

"It was a real long day. The car started out pretty good. We could hold our own around eighth place. We got involved in a wreck on pit road. It was just an accident, nobody's fault. It was just getting out of the pits. We had to work on it after that and get caught back up. We fought back for track position and really couldn't get anywhere. With about a hundred laps to go, we just put on two tires, got some track position and Jeff just held on to it from there. It was all driver. It was going short runs enough that you could gamble a little with the tires today. Nobody ran 100 laps because the caution would come out first."

STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge) -- Finished 4th

"It was fun running up front today with the Coors Light Dodge. Tony Glover and the guys did a great job in the pits with all the calls, and I did all I could to bring it home in one piece. We were really good when we were running out front today. I wish we hadn't had to come in at all. I've been racing here a long time and I still have won one, but we're not giving up. We had a car that could have won today. We'll go get 'em next week in Atlanta and keep working hard to turn things around for next season."

JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge) -- Finished 6th

"It was a real strong run all day. The guys made great calls in the pits, and we had great stops all day. We were just trying to finish. We tested here, and we needed this. We needed a good finish like that. The rest really paid off for us. Pit stops and track position was the key today. We took two tires at the end and got back up there, and that was a real good call from Kenny (Team Director Francis)."

RUSTY WALLACE (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge) -- Finished 10th

"We had a real good car. It was just racing at the end. That's all I can say. It got bashed down in the corner. He (Jimmie Johnson) spun the tires and tried to block me. That's a normal thing. I would have done the same thing going down the front straightaway. Then I shot to the outside of him to try to pass him. We went side by side and we went down the back straightaway. He got about a car length ahead of me and I went to pull down behind him and got booted in the left rear quarterpanel by Newman. I don't know if I pulled down on him or he just stayed in the throttle or what happened, but I got knocked up the racetrack and a bunch of them passed me and that was it. I should have just stayed low. The 48 had a real slow restart, and I had a real rocket ship restart. He saw it and blocked it and that's what got me.

"I told him (12) to stay out of my way, and I could win the race, but he didn't do it. There's nothing I can do about it. I'll talk a little bit. I want to see what he was thinking. I know what he was thinking. He was trying to get the best finish he could."

COMMENT ON NEWMAN SAYING HIS CAR WAS FASTER THAN YOURS "I didn't see him all day long. He thought he was faster than me? I guess that's why he ran through the quarterpanel."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge) -- Finished 13th, top rookie

"It was a pretty good day, but it could have been better. We just about had a top 10 car with it beat up and the tow out and everything else that went on. If we could have kept it in one piece it would definitely have finished better than that. It was completely different from Friday. The car was terrible Friday, but Tommy (Team Director Baldwin) and the guys worked on it. They made some really good changes. I think we probably had one of the better cars here today."
