ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger)
"Going out early just killed us. There's still a lot of debris on the track. That's going to hurt us for Sunday. We're definitely going to start in the back somewhere. My guys gave me a good car. It drove good this morning in race trim. We'll have to make some changes and some strategy calls in the first half of the race. Maybe we'll go get 'em in the second half."
BOBBY LABONTE (No. 43 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Charger)
"It's fun when you get here. It's a lot more fun than you think, but it's a lot of work, too. Going out early like we did, the track might have been a little slower. I'm a little disappointed we didn't go any faster. Maybe we'll dodge the bullet for a little while. This has always been a good track for me. If we can stay out of trouble I think we'll have another good run Sunday."
CASEY MEARS (No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge Charger)
"The track seemed to get better in practice. As qualifying goes on, it'll probably get better and some cars will bump us back. We backed up what we ran in practice, and I'm glad we tightened the car up before qualifying. We were loose the whole time in practice. The track just seemed to get looser."
KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger)
"That wasn't a very good lap. It's pretty far off. The car didn't feel very good. We've got some work to do tomorrow in practice to get it where we want it. We're just going to have to live with the pit stall we get."
RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger)
"I'm really happy with that. We couldn't have made the car any better for what we had to work with and the time we had to work with it. We picked up when everybody else was dropping off. I thought Jeff Gordon was the only guy who could beat us and he did, but I'm still really happy with our run. Matt and the guys did an excellent job with the car. It's a lot of fun racing here. This track has made so many great improvements. We look forward coming here. With a season like we've had, it's nice to come here and have things make sense."
REED SORENSON (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger)
"We were really loose. We went out on stickers, and I don't know if that make it loose. We did make a small adjustment before qualifying and that made it loose off turn four. I'm not sure where that will end up. That's about a tenth slower than we practiced."
