Martinsville II: David Reutimann race report

#00 Team Battle's Through -- Finishes 17th at Martinsville Speedway

Martinsville, VA -- The #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota, driven by David Reutimann in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series for Michael Waltrip Racing, finished 17th in the Subway 500 today from Martinsville Speedway.

David Reutimann rolled off 19th today in the #00 Toyota, and immediately from the drop of the green flag started battling an ill handling race car -- where the key word was "TIGHT".

"The #00 Toyota just wouldn't rotate through the center. The team threw everything at it but it still wouldn't turn like it should," said David Reutimann.

The #00 Toyota fell to 33rd early in the race, as the team made numerous adjustments trying to free David up. Unfortunately, the team couldn't find what the #00 Toyota needed -- eventually going a lap down.

"In the corner is where you need to handle at a race track like Martinsville, because that's the best place to pass -- getting into the turn. When you drift up it gives an easy avenue for cars to drive under you," said Reutimann.

The #00 team, lead by David Reutimann, continued to fight throughout the race, and on lap 462 were awarded by earning the "Lucky Dog" -- putting them back on the lead lap for the remainder of the race.

"It was a long day. I'm proud of the team -- once again they continued to battle -- even when we fell a lap down there was no giving up," said Frank Kerr, Crew Chief of the #00 Toyota.
