Robert 'Bootie'Barker Takes Leave of Absence from Jasper Motorsports:

Doug Bawel, Mark Harrah and Mark Wallace, co-owners of Jasper Motorsports, announced Tuesday that they have come to a mutual agreement with Robert 'Bootie' Barker, crew chief for the No. 77 Jasper Engines and Transmissions NASCAR Winston Cup Series entry. Barker who will not be in Martinsville remains under contract with Jasper Motorsports.

Mark Harrah, co-owner of Jasper Motorsports, will act as the team's crew chief in Bootie's absence.

Dave Blaney Loves Martinsville Speedway, or so he is Trying to Convince Himself:

"I love racing at Martinsville, at least that is what I am trying to convince myself!" said Blaney. "We had a really good test session at Martinsville Charlotte week, so that definitely helped me to build my confidence."

Blaney Spending Time as a Business Owner this Week at Sharon Speedway:

"I never realized what went behind the operations of a track," said Blaney. "I love it. It is probably one of the most challenging things I have done, and I get to do it with my family."

Equipment:

The Jasper Engines and Transmissions Racing Team is taking Chassis #23 to Martinsville Speedway. Blaney has raced this car several times this year: Vegas (Start 35th/Finish 34th), Martinsville in the spring (Start 15th/Finish 31st), the first Pocono (Start 22nd/Finish 26th) as well as both Richmond races-spring (Start 31st/Finish 18th) & fall (Start 37th/Finish 33rd).
