Reed Sorenson and the No.41 Target Dodge (NSCS)

Martinsville History: Sorenson's best finish in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) competition at Martinsville was the first time he raced a NSCS car at the Virginia track in April 2006, when he scored a 12th-place finish (started 25th). Last year he finished 18th (started 28th) in the April race and then followed up with a 41st-place finish (started 28th) in October. His first and only NNS run at Martinsville (which was in June 2006) resulted in a fourth-place finish. Altogether, he has five starts in NSCS competition at the short track, averaging a 27th-place starting position and 28.4-finishing position.

200th Start: Reed Sorenson will be making his 200th NASCAR start this Sunday at Martinsville. Sorenson has participated in 95 NNS events and 104 NSCS races heading into this weekend's event.

Last Weekend: Reed Sorenson earned his fourth top-15 finish of the season at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Saturday night when he drove his Target Dodge to a 15th-place finish during the Bank of America 500.

In the Points: The No.41 CGRFS team climbed one spot in the NSCS Owner point standings. With 2,871 points, the No.41 trails 25th-place Travis Kvapil by 323 points.

Happy Birthday: The Target team will celebrate two birthdays this weekend. Target Team Engine Tuner Travis Alexander will celebrate his 31st birthday on Sunday, October 19, and the No.41 Race Engineer Tim Smith will turn 33-years-old Monday.

Golfing for Charity: The Second Annual Reed Sorenson Charity Golf Classic is scheduled to take place next Thursday, October 23, at the Eagles Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga. Proceeds will benefit Speedway Children's Charities and golfers can expect to play with many NASCAR drivers, including Sorenson's CGRFS teammate Juan Pablo Montoya. Juan Pablo Montoya and No.42 Big Red® Slim Pack Dodge

On the Hood: Montoya's No.42 Dodge will carry the bold colors of Big Red this weekend at the short track in Martinsville. This will be Montoya's last time this season in the Big Red paint scheme.

Montoya Gets a 100% at Martinsville: Montoya has completed all laps of competition (1506) in his three starts at Martinsville Speedway. The Colombian-born racer has led nine laps and has one top-10 and three top-20 finishes at the .526-mile oval. His best finish of eighth came one year ago. Montoya averages a 26th-place starting position and 12.3-place finishing position.

About Last Week: Montoya and the No.42 team were running in the top 20 at Lowe's Motor Speedway (LMS) on Saturday night when a cut tire on the Juicy Fruit Slim Pack Dodge ended the team's night. Montoya was credited with a 34th-place finish.

Gala for Colombia: Montoya and his wife Connie will once again co-host a charity gala in the Miami, Fla., are this upcoming November, benefiting six non-profit Colombian organizations including their own Formula Smiles Foundation (www.formulasmiles.org). BELIVE 2008 will take place November 11 at Jungle Island in Miami, Fla. Headlining the gala this year is Latin Grammy Award Winner Carlos Vive and Esteban Cortazar, chief designer for the Emanuel Ungaro fashion house. The event will consist of a silent auction, a fashion show and a concert. The Montoya's founded the Formula Smiles Foundation to improve the quality of life for needy children by implementing programs that instill values through sports and recreation.

2008 Standings: Montoya remains 23rd in the NSCS driver standings despite his 34th-place finish last weekend at LMS.

Testing: Montoya spent Tuesday at Homestead-Miami Speedway participating in a Goodyear tire test in preparation for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season finale. Montoya was joined by Brian Vickers during the one-day test.

CHASSIS INFO

No.41 Target Dodge (NSCS): Chassis #737. This weekend's event at Martinsville will be the third time this car has been showcased by the CGRFS team. Sorenson drove this car to a sixth-place finish in the rain-shortened race in New Hampshire after qualifying sixth. The chassis was also run in Richmond last month.

No.42 Big Red Slim Pack Dodge (NSCS): Chassis #818. Montoya has raced this car two other times this season--in New Hampshire this past September and June. His teammate Sorenson also competed with this same car at Martinsville Speedway this past March.
