IT'S BEEN A BIT OF A STRUGGLE FOR YOU THIS SEASON BUT YOU WON THE TRUCK RACE YESTERDAY. DO YOU FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOUR CHANCES TODAY? Well, I hope so. We got bit by some stuff that was kind of unlikely but it happens. We've just got to keep our heads up and move forward one day at a time. I think it's going to be a good race. Our guys have done a great job; we've got some great race cars. We've got to go out there and race and see what our weak points are, so you know, we have to keep working at it and see what we got.
WHAT DOES YOUR CAR HAVE TO DO TO STAY AT THE FRONT? You have to turn in the center and stay at the bottom. If you can do those two, you've got everything else pretty much taken care of.

HOW MUCH OF WINNING ON A SHORT TRACK IS FINDING YOUR RHYTHM? Well, there's a lot to be said for that. Once you get your car to where you want it to be and you can break off consistent laps, you're in good shape. That's what you need to do here at Martinsville-keep the fenders on it like we did last week and hopefully we can put this GM Goodwrench Chevrolet in victory lane.
TODD BERRIER'S NOT HERE THIS WEEK AGAIN. WHAT DID YOU TALK ABOUT WITH HIM THIS WEEK AND WHAT ADVICE DID HE HAVE? We really just shook everything down and got a good handle on what we need to do. We talked about it and the main thing he said was keep the fenders on it, keep the radiator in it and make sure it rolls so you have a chance at the end. That's our plan and hopefully we can stick to it.

A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE SURPRISED BY YOUR POLE POSITION HERE. WERE YOU? I was surprised, not that we didn't have a good enough car to-I knew we had a good shot at a top 5. We were pretty good in practice and I felt good in the car. But, especially after our lap. I got really loose getting into turn 1 and aero loose getting into turn 3 with the Valvoline Chevrolet and never thought that would be the pole-winning lap. I slowed down a little bit on the second lap and took care of it if that was the faster lap. Sure enough, the first lap was quicker. That surprised us.
WERE YOU PLEASED WITH YOUR CAR YESTERDAY IN PRACTICE? Well, we never really got satisfied with what kind of lap time we could run. We got on both sides of it. We got the car pretty tight, then we made changes for the second practice and got the car pretty loose. And so, we got on both sides of it and went back to figure out what the differences were and now we're right in the middle of both of those, so we're hoping we'll be pretty good today.
