Marcos Ambrose looks to celebrate birthday in Atlanta's victory lane

No. 9 DEWALT Ford team poised for third consecutive Top-10 at Atlanta

CONCORD, N.C. (August 27, 2013) - Marcos Ambrose and the No. 9 team have turned a corner in the past three races posting two top-10 finishes and winning a pole. The team has shown plenty of speed this year and now have the results to show for it. Ambrose and the DEWALT team will ride their momentum into the Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway and hope to celebrate Ambrose's 37th birthday in Victory Lane.

Ambrose and team posted top-13 finishes in their last three 1.5-mile track races, including a sixth-place finish at Michigan. With seven starts under his belt and a top-10 finish at the track in 2010, Ambrose looks to break the top-five for his first time at the Georgia mile-and-a-half track.

Comments from DEWALT Ford Fusion Driver Marcos Ambrose:

"We have really been on a roll lately. We have been fast all season, but now, we are getting the finishes we deserve. The last few weeks, we may not have had the best car, but Drew and the team made the right calls to get us there at the end. We have been good at the intermediate tracks since the middle of the season and should unload quick this weekend. We tested in Chicago earlier in the week, and we're learning more about this car too.

"Atlanta is a fast track and really fun to race. We will have a good amount of practice time to figure out the Gen-6 car here. Again we will start during the daylight and then race into the night. That played into our strategy last week, so hopefully we can repeat this week for a third top-10 and maybe even a win."

Comments from Crew Chief Drew Blickensderfer on Atlanta:

"We've had good races lately, and I think we can again this weekend at Atlanta. We have done well at the mile-and-a-half tracks lately, and our test at Chicago allowed us to try out some new things."
