LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Finish Line Events are honoring the memory of Dale Earnhardt by contributing all proceeds from the sale of his souvenirs to Speedway Children's Charities.

All donations will be made in the name of the seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup champion who was killed during Sunday's Daytona 500. Finish Line Events oversees all souvenir sales for LVMS as well as all six facilities that comprise Speedway Motorsports Inc.

"For many, Dale's death is like losing a member of the family," said Chris Powell, executive vice president and general manager at LVMS. "The motorsports family has lost a favorite son. Right now, we just want to keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. And our hearts go out to his legions of fans who have lost a true hero."

LVMS is finalizing plans to pay tribute to Earnhardt during the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 weekend scheduled for March 2-4.

"Anyone who comes to the speedway or watches on television will know that the memory of Dale Earnhardt is alive at Las Vegas Motor Speedway," Powell said.
