MATT KENSETH - No. 17 DEWALT Tools Taurus (Finished 2nd)
"We were a little too tight in the middle and a little too free up off and couldn't quite get it there. Kurt's car was real fast through the middle of the corner and that's kind of where he killed us all day. He ran quite a bit different setup than we did and if we would have had more race practice, maybe we would have tried that. But I'm real happy to run second and get off to a good start."
DID KURT TRANSFER ANY INFORMATION TO THE 17?
"I don't know. He didn't tell me he learned anything here (laughing). We share all our information at Roush. We've done that the last few years since, as a company, we had a terrible year in 2001. Since then we share all of our information, but people still have little tricks here and there that maybe they do a little different or drive the track a little different than maybe what I do. I knew what he had for a setup in his car the last two times. It's the same pretty much, but it's different than what we ran. In the car we had here last time, I couldn't get his stuff to work very good in my car. Sometimes you just stumble on something and it really works on a certain car and certain drivers like it that way."
IS IT OVER FOR THE GUYS WHO HAD TROUBLE IN THE TOP 10 TODAY?
"No, I think 10 races is a lot of races. If it was four or five races, I'd say it's over. But with 10 races that's a long time to recover. I'm sure we'll all have off days. I don't know how bad they'll be, if they'll be quite as bad as they had. But everybody is gonna have an off day. You're not gonna be able to run in the top five every single week. I think they'll be able to recover from that."
ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT THINGS LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TODAY WITH THE 31 AND 16?
"I don't think it's a lot different because you're in the chase. I think if you did somebody wrong early in the year and they don't like you and you don't like them or whatever, you're probably gonna have continued problems no matter where you are in the points. If you give somebody respect on the track all the time, I think he's gonna give you that respect back no matter where you are in the points. There are 43 guys that show up here and they all show up to try to win and they have just as much right to all that race track as we do. If you race them clean, they're gonna race you back clean. Everybody is out there trying to win every week. That's what it's about."
