"We had a really good car and it's a shame that we didn't finish higher than that. It's good that we had a fast race car at least. I was real pleased with our race car. Pat and the guys did a super job on it getting it where it was and keeping it where it was all day."
JEFF BURTON AND DALE JR. SAID IT'S TOO EARLY TO WORRY ABOUT POINTS. DO YOU FEEL THAT WAY? "Yeah, I'm not worried about points. I absolutely don't care. We're in the chase. We're racing. I'm just frustrated that we had a top five car and finished wherever we finished. I wish we wouldn't have had so many cautions there at the end. We had a good race car and the way things played out we just got too far back."
HOW WOULD YOU ASSESS THIS RACE? "We had a really fast race car. I was really proud of it. We finished OK. We ran better than that, but things usually go wrong for me a lot worse than that here, so I'll take it. We knew this was gonna be a tough one for us, but actually when the race started we had a sweet race car and it was a lot better than I thought. Right there at the end we lost a little bit of track position and wound up 11th."
HOW DOES THIS SET YOU UP FOR THE REST OF THE CHASE? "It's one race. I'm not worried about it. I thought we would lose more points than this today, so we actually did well. You know what's next? Dover."
MATT KENSETH - No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion (Finished 10th)
"The result was actually good for how we ran. I kind of messed up that last restart or maybe we could have gained a couple spots, but we were good on the short run. We were kind of good on the long run, but then we just didn't have any brakes. We've been fighting brake issues all year. I don't really understand why. We never used to have them, but we've been having them all year. I drove the last half of the race with basically zero brakes, so that was a good finish for all the problems we had."
YOU HELD JUNIOR OFF THERE AT THE END. "Yeah, I was probably starting to aggravate him, but my car was so loose that I had to run way on the outside and it was tough to finish the pass on the bottom. Being at the end of the race you've got to run for every spot you can get and we were able to hold him off."
YOU CAN'T WIN THE CHASE IN ONE RACE, BUT YOU CAN LOSE IT. YOU GOT OF THIS OK. "You can't do either. You can't count the 48 out. It's only one race and there are still nine to go. There's a lot of racing left to do and anything can happen."
DAVID GILLILAND - No. 38 M&M's Ford Fusion (Finished 36th)
"Our car was super loose after a caution and I just got loose getting into one there and got into the wall. At this track you don't have very much margin for error. That's why there are so many torn up race cars, but I'm really disappointed. We had a good car, but it was just so loose on new tires that it was a handful. After a few laps it would come in really good, but we never made it there."
YOU DID GET QUITE A FEW LAPS OUT THERE TODAY. "Yeah, we got some experience, but we need to start bringing home some competitive finishes and until we do, I'm not going to be happy."
