We're making process, but we are pretty impatient. We are making progress, maybe not as fast as we want to, but we are going in the right direction."

"It was a pretty good day. We need to get our stuff just a little bit better. It was probably the best Car of Tomorrow car we've had. We just feel like we got the rear doing too much work and the front not doing enough. We just need to get our front ends to turn a little bit better."
COMMENT ON THE SPIN? "Got loose and spun! We got our car so loose in just trying to get it to turn and we were passing Casey Mears for second and it just spun out."
SCOTT RIGGS (No. 10 Stanley Tools/Valvoline Dodge Avenger)
"We got tangled up there in the first part of the race and someone got into my left rear. That cut the tire down and we had to pit under green. That's the second cut tire in two weeks for the No. 10 Stanley Tools/Valvoline Dodge. It was for a different reason but the result is still the same because you end up multiple laps down without much hope of getting back on the lead lap. I think without that incident we could have finished top 15 or maybe top 10. One of these days our luck is going to turn around."
KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Avenger)
"The car was real loose. When we did manage to get the back hooked up with the track, the car wouldn't turn. We just couldn't get a balance between the two. Early in the race, the car would get better after about 20 laps and we could match the times by the leaders, but we had lost a lot of track position. That was a little better than here in the spring, but we have a lot of work to get the balance we need for the car of tomorrow at flat tracks like this."
BORIS SAID (No. 98 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge Avenger)
"I have to thank Valvoline and Stanley Tools for giving me the opportunity this weekend. I wish we could have come home with a better result. It really put us at a disadvantage when practice was rained out yesterday, that kept us from having any time to work on our race setup. I was still learning the track out there in the race today and the car was too tight at the start. Once we fell the second lap down we just used the rest of the race as a test session. We were able to throw a lot of changes at this COT car and see how it reacted. Hopefully that will help Gillett Evernham Motorsports in the future."
DAVID STREMME (No. 40 Energizer Dodge Avenger)
"I just ran out of gas. It wouldn't re-fire. They've got some kind of carburetor issues or something. We're running them so lean trying to get good fuel mileage and it wouldn't start, so we took a good car and finished in the back."
JUAN PABLO MONTOYA (No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge Avenger)
"It was tough (today). We struggled in practice and having no time to run on Saturday was hard. We made a little progress through the race, but we were too slow. We tried to stay out when everybody else pitted then the yellow never came. It would have been good if it would have, but it didn't."
KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Avenger)
"We had a strong car there in the beginning and then had a motor problem. A later diagnosis left us with a problem with our carburetor. It left us without the power that we needed. It's kind of a bummer, but we worked hard to get in this Chase and we'll still work hard.
"This one is a big lump, but it didn't hurt us so we'll see what happens."
RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 Mobil 1 Dodge Avenger)
"It was pretty uneventful. Track position was the name of the game. We had a fast car we just got behind and were a little too tight there the last two runs and that really hurt us. It was a good run for the Mobil 1 Dodge for us to get a top-10 out of it. We just look forward to carrying out the rest of the season.
"We were tight and then our last pit stop was a little less than par, that hurt us for sure on the green flag pit stop."
