Plan For Continued Success At New Hampshire
STATESVILLE, N.C. -- After races in Michigan and California, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series continues its coast-to-coast trek of America with this weekend's race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Elliott Sadler and the No. 19 Best Buy Dodge team hope to continue their recent run of success. They earned a top-10 finish at Michigan and nearly posted a top-five run last weekend at Infineon Raceway before a last-lap flat tire.
About racing at NHMS: "New Hampshire is a flat one-mile oval where we've done pretty well in the past. The flat-track program at Gillett Evernham Motorsports has seen some major improvements. We qualified second and had a great run going at Phoenix until our night ended early. It is so good to come to the track excited about how good your car is going to be each week, especially this one."
What to expect: "Because the track is so flat, track position is going to mean everything again this weekend. It's tough to pass at New Hampshire so that makes qualifying even more important. Qualifying determines pit selection order so a good pit stall is really important as well. This is one of my favorite flat tracks on the schedule and with the way we've been running lately, I'm looking forward to this weekend."
About the area and fans: "The area is absolutely beautiful up in New England and the fans turnout in full force to see us race. This will be the first race under Bruton Smith's ownership, so I'm looking forward to seeing what changes his group has made and what he can bring to that area of the country."
Hancock on the hood: In conjunction with Best Buy and Sony Pictures Entertainment, the No. 19 Dodge will carry the movie title "Hancock" on the hood and rear bumper in New Hampshire. Starring Will Smith and Charlize Theron, the movie debuts in theaters on July 2.
Kalitta Decal: All Gillett Evernham Motorsports Dodges will carry a decal in New Hampshire honoring NHRA driver Scott Kalitta who died last weekend in a racing accident.
