FT. WORTH, Texas (July 21, 1998) At a press conference Wednesday at Texas Motor Speedway, Roush Racing will introduce Kevin Lepage as the driver of the No. 16 PRIMESTAR Ford, and PRIMESTAR is expected to announce its sponsorship of the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race at TMS, according to a Roush Racing spokesperson. Lepage, who signed a 30-day contract with Roush in late June, will assume the seat of the car that has been driven by Ted Musgrave for more than four years at the Aug. 16 Pepsi 400 presented by DeVilbiss at Michigan Speedway in Brooklyn. Lepage is currently 37th in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series standings after starting 14 races in LJ Racing's No. 91 Chevrolet. He is a candidate for the series' Raybestos Rookie of the Year Award. His best finishes were a pair of 14th-place showings. The first, coincidentally, came in the PRIMESTAR 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March, while the second was in the DieHard 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The native of Shelburne, Vt., posted his best starting spot of the season at Michigan, beginning the Miller Lite 400 in the fifth spot. He finished that race in 40th. Musgrave is 21st in the points standings this year, with four top-10s in 17 starts in the No. 16 Taurus. PRIMESTAR had previously sponsored the spring NASCAR Winston Cup Series race at Atlanta. That event will be sponsored by Cracker Barrel Restaurants in 1999. Source: NASCAR Online
