Sunday's Winston Cup Race:

Las Vegas, NV Shawna Robinson and the BAM Racing team overcame a week filled with many ups and downs. The BAM Racing team began the week with the departure of crew chief Eddie Sharp. Teddy Brown was selected to oversee the preparation, car's setup, "calling the shots" on race-day and the team packed up and headed to Vegas.

Robinson started Sunday's race from the 36th position. She battled an ill handling, tight racecar 60 laps and three laps down to the leaders. The crew made several changes to the racecar throughout the race, but nothing seemed to help it. Half way through the race Robinson radioed in and said, "It's like I am driving a tight racecar on ice."

On lap 222, Robinson scraped the wall coming off turn two. She took the car behind the wall to the attention of the crew. They discovered that the ratchet in the rear-end gear had broken early in the race, which made the car non-responsive to the changes the crew had made.

Quoting Shawna Robinson, "We had a learning experience this weekend and I can't tell you how proud I am of this BAM Racing team. We struggled in practice and were not even close to where we needed to be (Friday) morning. We had a meeting and Teddy Brown and the guys came back with a setup that proved to be fast. We knew after "Happy Hour" we could run with these guys, but we were faced with more than our share of tough luck today. Regardless, we're headed to Atlanta next and it is one of my favorite tracks."

The Winston Cup Series will head to Atlanta, GA, this weekend.
