The newly crowned Sprint Cup champion underwent surgery earlier today in order to remove two metal plates in his left foot and a metal rod and screws in his right leg.
Busch broke his right leg and shattered his left foot in a crash at Daytona International Speedway in February while racing in the Xfinity Series.
"Busch is expected to make a full recovery in time for the start of the 2016 NASCAR season in February," Joe Gibbs Racing said in a statement.
"Today’s surgeries were performed by Dr. Robert Anderson of OrthoCarolina and Dr. Stephen Sims of Carolinas Healthcare System."
His JGR teammate Denny Hamlin underwent knee surgery at the end of November after tearing his ACL earlier this year.
