Kyle Busch on top in Bristol Happy Hour

Kyle Busch Racing blew away the competition during the final Sprint Cup practice session at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Busch posted a quick lap of 131.146 mph early in the session. His Best 10 Consecutive Lap Average (126.004 mph) from Laps 2 through 11 also topped the field.

David Ragan, who acknowledged this week he was searching for a new ride in 2016, was second on the speed chart with a lap of 130.646 mph — 0.056-seconds off of Busch’s pace.

“Good job, that was good balance right there,” said Ragan, who leapfrogged over Kyle Larson (130.018 mph) with less than 10 minutes remaining in the final session. Denny Hamlin (129.4040mph) was fourth — and the third fastest Toyota followed by Kevin Harvick and Wednesday night’s truck winner Ryan Blaney.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano and Paul Menard rounded out the top 10.

Despite running the 12th fastest lap (128.632 mph), Dale Earnhardt Jr. acknowledged following practice that the team "Had to repair a tiny bit of rr (right rear) quarter (panel) damage. Rubbed the wall at the flagstand twice. Softwall has a slight bow to it on the straights."

Martin Truex Jr. posted the 21st fastest lap in a backup car after running 26 laps.
