KASEY KAHNE QUOTES
"We've had disappointing finishes in the first two races in the Chase," said Kahne. "The accident last week was a devastating blow to our title hopes. Those things happen. We're disappointed, but there are eight races left. We have a great team. The guys have done an awesome job this year. We'll regroup just fine. Maybe we'll dominate the last eight races, who knows?
"We had an awesome racecar at Dover. I know Kenny (Francis, team director) and the crew will have a great car at Kansas. We've run well at Kansas in the past. That's the next race. That's our next opportunity to get a win. We're ready."
KASEY KAHNE FAST FACTS
In two races at Kansas Speedway, Kahne has completed 534 of the 534 laps contested.
Kahne's best start at Kansas (second) came during his rookie season in 2004. He led 39 laps and finished 12th.
Kahne's average starting position at Kansas is 22nd and his average finishing position is 15th. He has two top-20 finishes in two starts there.
Kahne lost one position in the Chase for the Championship last weekend at Dover after getting caught up in a wreck not of his own making early in the race. He is now 128 points out of fifth and 182 out of the lead.
The 2006 season marks the third consecutive year Evernham Motorsports has had a driver in the Chase for the Championship (Jeremy Mayfield 2004 and 2005) and the fourth consecutive year that Evernham Motorsports will have a driver on stage at the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Awards Ceremony in New York City in December (Bill Elliott 2003).
