"I missed three just a little bit. We slowed up two tenths from where we had been our fastest in practice. We were hoping to pick up two tenths, but we'll just have to see. Some other guys here might be a little bit off, so, hopefully, we'll end up about the same."
WHERE YOU GOING TONIGHT TO RACE? "We're just gonna go down the road and play tonight, but we're here just working to get this Motorcraft car right. That's what we're worried about."
GREG BIFFLE -- No. 16 National Guard/Subway Ford Fusion (Qualified 29th)
"The lap wasn't very good at all. I chattered front the front tires up and had to wait on the gas a bunch in the center of both corners, so it's not gonna be very good for today. Hopefully, it'll be better on Sunday."
DAVID GILLILAND -- No. 38 M&M's Ford Fusion (Qualified 20th)
"I raced a Winston West car in like 2001, I think. It's been a long time and we didn't have a good weekend. I'm excited. We weren't very good in practice and we struggled but Todd Parrott and the guys made some adjustments and that really helped. It really gives me encouragement going into tomorrow and I'm really excited."
MARK MARTIN -- No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (Qualified 19th)
"It was good. I was actually pleased with the time. I overdrove, just slightly, turn three and that cost me a whisker, but we were good enough to probably get us a pretty good starting spot here. It's better than what we practiced. We were 22nd in practice and I believe that will wind up better than 22nd. I hope it does."
YOU WON FROM 19TH LAST YEAR. "Yeah. We need to make it better tomorrow and I certainly have every bit of confidence that we will. We'll have time to work on it and maybe get the car just a little bit better. It was pretty good in race trim today, so we'll take that and refine on it tomorrow. It's all about how you perform on Sunday."
TODD KLEUVER -- No. 06 3M Ford Fusion (Qualified 22nd)
"I think that will put us in the show, which is what it is really about. Frankie and all of the guys really did a good job. Obviously we didn't make the race in California and that was disappointing to all of us and Frankie took this to the wind tunnel and it's a lot better than it was. I've been going straight all day in the Busch car and I've said from day one that I think in order to be successful you've got to run both cars."
MATT KENSETH -- No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion (Qualified 8th)
"Overall I'm really happy with that lap time, that's good. I've got to give Doug Yates and all the guys at the engine shop a shout out. These engines are just awesome. I had to get out of the gas I was so loose. There was a lot of speed, I'm real encouraged about that lap."
DALE JARRETT -- No. 88 UPS Ford Fusion (Qualified 32nd)
"It's almost like we're a practice behind every time. If we could have started right there or been right there toward the end of practice, we could have adjusted from there maybe. It was a lot better. Even though it was only a couple of tenths pick up, the car was a lot better. This is a car that we have never had any speed out of and we just don't have the answer. We keep making subtle changes to it, but I don't know aero-wise if it's something that won't let it go faster or what it is. I wish I knew."
CARL EDWARDS -- No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion (Qualified 27th)
"Well, we changed everything and it just wasn't fast enough. It was a good lap though. I don't think if I had to do it over again that I would have gone any faster. I'm happy with what we did, we just didn't have the right springs. We changed like three of 'em. If our car is good, it won't matter that we'll be in the back."
