Jeff Burton to replace Tony Stewart in the No. 14 at Michigan

Tony Stewart is sitting out this weekend's race.

Stewart-Haas Racing has released a statement announcing Jeff Burton as Tony Stewart's replacement in the No. 14 car this weekend. This renders Stewart ineligible for the Chase (unless NASCAR says otherwise) as he continues to cope with the fallout from the death of Kevin Ward Jr.

As of right now, this arrangement is only for Michigan, with Stewart's future plans yet to be determined. The release states that the decision to sit out the race was Tony's.

Stewart finished 11th in the first race at Michigan, earlier this year. Jeff Burton has been running a partial schedule for Michael Waltrip Racing in 2014, making two starts thus far.
