Dale Jarrett & Ken Schrader highlight Open Wheel Wednesday at I-55.
Two NASCAR Winston Cup veteran drivers will be on hand Wednesday, June 12th at I-55 Raceway's Open Wheel Wednesday. Dale Jarrett, driver of the Robert Yates owned #88 UPS Ford and Kenny Schrader, driver of the #36 M&M's Pontiac, will be signing autographs before the racing program. Fenton, MO's Kenny Schrader will also be racing UMP Late Models around the 1/3 mile high banked I-55 Raceway.
Fans can also register in a raffle to win a ride with Ken Schrader in a two-seat winged sprint car or the two seat ARCA dirt car. The specially built two-seat sprint car has a second seat directly behind the driver's seat for a passenger. The two-seat ARCA dirt car allows you to ride in the passenger side. The winner will get to ride for five laps around I-55 Raceway during intermission. All proceeds from the raffle will go to charity.
Gates will open at 4:00pm and the autograph session is from 5:30pm till 7:30pm. In order to keep the lines moving and to let as many people as possible get autographs, each person in line may have each driver only autograph one item. Racing starts at 7:30pm.
General admission tickets will be $20. As always at I-55 Raceway, kids 12 and under will be admitted FREE into the grandstands. There are NO reserved or advanced ticket sales for this event. All tickets will be sold at the gate beginning at 4:00pm.
Many of the top UMP Late Model drivers from the Midwest will be on hand and of course Kenny Schrader, all looking for those valuable UMP National Points. It is the final opportunity for the top UMP Late Model drivers to prepare for annual UMP Summer National tour. The UMP Late Models will be competing for a $2000 top prize.
Also on the lineup will be the Winged Sprint cars. They are also competing for a top prize of $2000. Last year, over 35 sprint cars competed in this event.
