HARRISBURG, N.C. (May 6, 1999) James Ince hopes to guide the No. 45 team to some strong finishes. James Ince has been named crew chief at Tyler Jet Motorsports, team owner Tim Beverley announced Thursday. Tyler Jet Motorsports fields the 10-10-345 Pontiac driven by Rich Bickle. Ince was formerly crew chief for the No. 16 Roush Racing Winston Cup Series entry and replaces interim crew chief Bill Ingle. At age 28, the Springfield, Mo. native is the youngest crew chief in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series garage.

"We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to have someone the caliber of James Ince join our team on a permanent basis," Beverley said. "He comes to us very highly recommended, and we are extremely confident that, under his guidance, the 10-10-345 Pontiac will be running at the front of the field!"

Ince has been a NASCAR Winston Cup Series crew chief since 1996, when he took over the duties for the machine driven by Ted Musgrave. Under Ince's guidance, Musgrave earned six top-5 finishes over two seasons. For his career, Ince has registered seven top-5 finishes including a pair of 2nd-place efforts, as well as eight additional top-10 finishes.
