"It was another one of those nights at IRP. I didn't think that we were going to be that good when the race started. Happy Hour, I wasn't super-happy with the car and I knew that I was just going to have to hang out and I thought that Jason back there was saving his tires for a lions time because he wasn't coming after us like he'd run earlier. He must have adjusted on his car and not been as good as he had been. I didn't know if I had enough to hold him off. My car was tight on that last set of tires and when I wanted to pick the throttle back up, I couldn't get it to go and couldn't get it to turn. I just held my line and I knew that Jason was going to run me clean. Those guys are having a heck of a season and so are we, and I think it's the best string of races that the both of us have had in quite some time. It was just great pit stops and great put strategy. The cars are being prepared back at the shop phenomenally. We're unloading these cars off the truck every week and they're just perfect. That's what it takes to make a championship run. We're not working on the cars mechanically or anything. We're working on the setup and getting them right and it's really paying off for us."
"I wish that he'd run 10th or something. It's tough. You think about it. You have to finish first or second to stay in the points and not give up any points. That's pretty tough. That's a pretty tall order. You don't see that in any other series. It doesn't happen in Winston Cup and it doesn't happen in the trucks or anything. It's being tough right now on us to perform. I saw the 57 in the mirror and it looked like he was going to come down pit road and that finalized my decision to come. I wasn't for sure coming, but I saw the 57 coming and then I was for sure coming. That's who we were racing. We weren't racing the 10; we weren't the 9 car, any of them. We're just racing the 57; we want to stay in front of him. He's coming to put tires on and so are we. We came down pit road first and I thought we'd beat him out and we did. The guys did a great job. I'm just so happy with the way their doing it, working in the pits; it's just great."
"Not at that point. Yeah, there was. When I went back out, I didn't think that I'd win. I thought I'd be maybe in the top three or four; I didn't realize I was going to be sixth. I thought I was going to be 12th because there were 15 cars on the lead lap and I don't' know how many guys came for tires or what happened, but it ended up being not that many guys. When I lined up sixth behind the 5 car, I looked at the cars ahead of me and thought, 'Wow, I've got a chance to win this thing. I'm just going to have to take it easy. I've got 30-some laps.' And then that caution came out again and the lapped cars were so tough. They would drive down two abreast inside there and slide up into the high groove and block your lane. They were just trying to race for position, too, and so were we."
