STATESVILLE, N.C. -- Elliott Sadler and the No. 19 Stanley Tools Dodge Charger team will be working towards a breakthrough performance this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the Allstate 400 at The Brickyard as they look to gain momentum following a 12th place finish at Chicagoland.
The No. 19 team continues to strive for consistency as the season progresses and a strong performance in the Allstate 400 at The Brickyard could go a long way in helping the team take a giant step forward as the second half of the season kicks off.
"The No. 19 Stanley Tools team has been improving each week and we continue to get faster," said Sadler. "We have had some very solid runs in the last six weeks, but we have also watched some potentially great runs end up with some not so great results. We are working hard and we know that we are going to get a big break soon. We'd love to have that big break come in the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard this weekend."
The Emporia, Va. native has nine starts at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and has earned two top-10 finishes. Sadler is 23rd in driver points.
ON OFF-WEEK ACTIVITIES "When you have a week off during the NASCAR season you try your best to relax and take care of yourself. I stayed at home mostly and spent time with my fiance and family. We got out on the golf course a couple times and tried to enjoy some of the warm weather, but honestly I tried to stay pretty low key and just enjoy a great off-weekend at home."
ON INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY "Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a very special place to race. Everyone brings their A-game to the racetrack and tries just a little harder to get the win at Indy. In racing there is Daytona and Indy -- if you can win at one of those tracks it really is something special.
"In 2004 we put together a really strong run at The Brickyard and brought home a third place finish, and in 2005 we started from the pole, but until I'm sitting in Victory Lane drinking my Coke I look at it as unfinished business. We are bringing a great car and every single person on the team is working hard to make sure we have a chance to kiss the bricks."
Starting Strong with Stanley: The No. 19 team has started in the top-10 four of the six races this season with Stanley as the primary paint scheme. (10th at Las Vegas, 2nd at Bristol, 8th at Phoenix, 6th at Infineon).
Chassis News: Sadler will be driving chassis No. 256 which will be taking to the track for the first time.
