JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) -- Finished 4th

"It was a good points day for us. It was a good top five and we had a shot to win the race. The car just got tight at the end. My hat's off to this team. We had a good car today, and Kasey had a good car, too. If you've got a shot to win that's all you can ask for. It's a good feeling to be able to run up front. It's been a long time since I ran good like that here. The 20 car team has been on a roll and they deserved it today. They had the best car at the end, but it was good to run up front with them all day.

"I got real tight at the end and couldn't go at the end. Kasey was better than I was and I let him go because he had a chance to win, too. Hopefully this will keep us solidly in The Chase. To come out of Indy with a top five is great. We had a great day and the guys did a great job in the pits, too. I thought I had a shot at the end until the last run and we got tight and I couldn't get off the corners. He beat me down the straightaways because of that. Kasey had a shot at him, but he was just too good at the end. It's hard to pass here, but we passed a lot of cars today and Kasey passed a lot.

"I feel real good about The Chase now. I'm going to remember it as a good points day and a good solid day for us to stay up in The Chase. We knew we needed a top five finish, and that's what we got. We came up a little short at the end. I thought one of the Evernham Dodges was going to be able to win the race, but all-in-all it was a good day for us.

"If you can't win the race you want to make sure you finish as high as you can and keep your spot or gain some positions in The Chase. The 20 car was a little bit better than us at the end, and that's just part of it."

STERLING MARLIN (No 40 Coors Light Dodge Charger) -- Finished 9th

"The car was real tight early, but we got it fixed and had a pretty good run. We didn't really have any close calls, managed to stay out of trouble and got a top 10 out of it. It's always fun to race at The Brickyard when you've got a good car. It's fun to race anywhere when the car is right, but we always look forward to running good at Indy."

KYLE PETTY (No. 45 Georgia Pacific/Marsh Stores Dodge Charger) -- Finished 13th

"Paul Andrews (crew chief) made a great call to not pit at the end of the race. That gave us the track position we needed. It was a great day for Petty Enterprises and the Evernham engines. All four engines were in the top 15. We are proud to do that for Ray. It was an aggressive race, and we hung in there all day. The guys did a great job, and Paul made that call at the end. It ended up being a great call and we got a great finish."

BILL ELLIOTT (No. 91 Stanley Tools Dodge Charger) -- Finished 23rd

"We just couldn't get a grip on our Stanley Tools Dodge today. We were a little tight early in the race then got free later in the race. The guys did a good job making adjustments on the car, but we just couldn't get going. That's too bad, because this is one of my favorite tracks and we were hoping to have a good run here today."

RUSTY WALLACE (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) -- Finished 25th

"It was about the worse run we've had all year long. We just really missed it big time on the front end of the car. I think we went just way too aggressive on the front shocks. We kept on making changes with the air pressures, the wedge and the track bar, but we couldn't get the thing to come around. It was about the most disastrous weekend we've had, crashing the car here yesterday and running so bad here today. The good thing about it ass was us still maintaining ourselves in the points. With the 48 having problems and some of the others in the top 10 finishing behind us, we were still able to stay up there. We still had a little good luck out there today, being able to get the caution when a tear-off clogged the grill and the water temperature gauge was pegged. That deal could have ended our day early, and we could have finished 40th. Yes, this is my last race here as a driver, and I certainly hoped for a much better day than we had. The next time I come back here, I'll just be watching all the other guys race, but right now we've got five races left to make The Chase and that's what we're going to concentrate on each week."

JEFF GREEN (No. 43 Box Tops/Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Charger) -- Finished 15th

"We've just got to keep working and figure out how to stay up front. We had an awesome Cheerios Dodge today, but we had some bad luck with a blown tire. The guys kept working hard and we continued to come back. The car was fast. We just need to put the whole package together to really prove to everyone what we can do. It's still a good day, and it's always fun to run well here at The Brickyard."

CASEY MEARS (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger) -- Finished 6th

"We qualified bad, but the guys did an unbelievable job fixing the car. It wasn't hurt that bad, but they did a great job fixing it. The 40, 42 and 41 teams dove in on this thing and got it right last night. Jimmy (crew chief Elledge) made the call to run this car instead of pulling a backup out, and it was the right call. This is one of the best cars we've got and we fixed it and it's still one of the best cars we've got. I think we got into the top 15, but we weren't very good on restarts. Kurt Busch got on the inside of me and Jamie drove us three wide going into three. When I got into three it locked up the brake pedals and it hooked me into Kurt. I'm glad he was there because he saved me from spinning all the way out. I stayed sideways through three and then we had to come in for tires and that put us in the back again. We battled back from there, passed a bunch of cars and there at the end stayed out. That's about as hard as I've ever worked, but it proves when we get things right we can run up front and we finally got things right. It was tough to pass, but our car was so good once it got thinned out, anybody I caught I could get by. This is one of the more difficult places to pass, but our car was really good and I could pass easily."
