HOMESTEAD, Fla., (Oct. 15, 1999) - Kmart Corporation and Pennzoil are teaming up to bring NASCAR Winston Cup racing to South Florida, with the inaugural Pennzoil 400 presented by Kmart. The Nov. 11-14, 1999 race weekend will mark the debut of NASCAR’s premier division at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.

"We are very excited to be associated with Kmart for our inaugural NASCAR Winston Cup event, the Pennzoil 400 presented by Kmart," said Jim Postl, president and chief operating officer for the Pennzoil-Quaker State Company. "Kmart is committed to racing, and we are thrilled to have them on board."

The Pennzoil 400 weekend opens with NASCAR Winston Cup Series practice on Thursday, Nov. 11. Friday's schedule features qualifying races, while the 1999 NASCAR Busch Series finale, the Miami 300, is scheduled for Saturday.

Racers in the Pennzoil 400 presented by Kmart will take the green flag at 12:30 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, Nov. 14.
