CARL EDWARDS -- No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion (Qualified 4th)

"We just go race as hard as we can. No matter what happens to Jimmie, we have to run very well to have a chance to win this championship. It's a great place to come race. It's a great place to come take a shot at it. I don't believe our lap will hold up for the pole, but it's still a great lap and it will get us a better spot than Jimmie's got, which is at least a start -- even if it's a small one."

WHAT ABOUT PIT SELECTION? "Pit selection will be big -- not as big as other places though because you can pass so easily here. You can run all over this race track, but I'll take whatever I can get. This will make it a little easier to sleep tonight and have a little confidence going into the race."

HOW WAS YOUR LAP? "That was a good lap for us. I don't know if it will hold up for the pole because I think some of these other guys will pick up, especially with these clouds, but it's a good starting spot for us -- hopefully a top five."

AT LEAST YOU'LL START AHEAD OF THE 48. "Just the fact that we're starting in front Jimmie, that's a small victory for us. The better chance we can have, the better pit stall selection we can have, the more traffic he's in, all of those things add up to a better chance for us to make this Cinderella story happen and come back from nowhere and win this."

TRAVIS KVAPIL -- No. 28 All Sport Ford Fusion (Qualified 19th)

"It's a decent lap, but I messed up my first lap and my second lap, I think, was a tick faster and typically you've got a quite a bit of fall off in your tires from your first lap to your second lap, so I'm kind of disappointed I didn't get it all on the first lap. I just didn't quite hit three and four just right. I gave up a little speed, but the car is good. We were really good in race trim and the car had a lot of speed in it, so I'm pretty comfortable with what we've got -- I just didn't quite get it just right for those two laps."

DAVID RAGAN -- No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (Qualified 6th)

DID THE CLOUD COVER HELP? "I think it certainly helped us. Our AAA Ford has got some pretty good speed in it. It drives pretty good and I think we've got a good race car for Sunday. If we wind up in the top 15 or top 10, that would be a great starting spot. At this track you can pass all over the place. This is a great place, so this should be a fun race."

MATT AND GREG HAVE WON HERE. IS IT YOUR TURN? "We've been really good on the mile-and-a-halfs and I'd look at Texas or Atlanta -- either of those mile-and-a-halfs would be a good place to get our first win. I think we've got a good enough team and a good enough program that if you look at Martinsville, even Phoenix to Talladega to any tracks besides Sonoma and Watkins Glen, it wouldn't surprise me if we were to get our first win. Roush Fenway has got a great track record here and we've got some hungry guys on our AAA team that would like to win and that's what we're trying to do."

GREG BIFFLE -- No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (Qualified 23rd)

"I just got tight. The track is just a little bit slicker than I thought it was gonna be and it just plowed off both ends. I had to come out of the gas right on the straightaway, which makes me think that for sure we'd have been on the top of the board, if I didn't have to come out of the gas. When you come out of the gas like that, I thought I was gonna be 25th. I should have been, but that just tells you how much speed we carried in and across the center, so that makes me think we're gonna be pretty decent. Still, it's painful to give up like that."

JAMIE MCMURRAY -- No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion (Qualified 7th)

"We were just way too tight there. We were too loose in all the qualifying runs in practice, so we tightened the car up and then the track slowed down so much that I thought we'd be really good because typically a little tight is better. It's still a pretty good effort. We were 14th in practice and we're gonna be better than that. I'm always joking around, like when we were in the truck after practice I'm like, 'Don't screw up what you already had,' so that was a solid effort."

MATT KENSETH -- No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion (Qualified 3rd)

"That's gonna end up in the top five or so and that's better than I thought we were gonna be, to be honest with you. That lap didn't feel very good and it had a lot of speed, so that's a good thing. If we get the car to drive a little bit better and feel the way I want, we should have the speed there."

HOW WAS YOUR RACE SETUP IN PRACTICE? "Practice wasn't very good, so we know we've got to work on it but we did have decent speed today, so that's encouraging. If you've got the speed, that's a lot easier to make them drive than if they're driving good and slow."
