"It was a decent lap. The car was sliding around a little too much. We were the fastest in practice so we couldn't adjust the car that much. We wanted to leave it along and it slid around a little bit too much. We're 40 points behind Jeff Gordon. If we have a good run and he doesn't have the best of days, we could gain 40 points on him and bump us up to third in points. Qualifying is important at all places, but some more so than others. Here, with the multiple grooves, qualifying is not the most important thing. It helps to get a good pit box selection so you're not fighting the track-position game from the get-go. One thing that is fun about this race is it starts in the day and goes into night."
ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Best Buy Dodge Charger) Qualified 21st
"I'm just proud of my guys because when we unloaded our Best Buy Dodge we were just a little bit off. We made a lot of good changes in our practice this morning. It was one of the most productive practices that we've had in a while and one of our best qualifying efforts that we've had in a few months. My guys gave me a good car and we want to work on it some more tomorrow to make it right for Sunday. We want to end the season on the best possible note so that we can to make the winter time go by as good as possible."
KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger) Qualified 25th
"Our Budweiser Dodge felt pretty good, but the car got tight in (Turns) 1 and 2 and then when I got into (Turn) 4, the front end tightened up and kicked out the back end when I tried to get back in the gas."
BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge Charger) Qualified 27th
"I think that's going to be real good for our draw. The problem is, I don't think it will stack up against those going out later. There are a lot of good guys that still have to qualify. It's a real close field here. I feel good about the run for our draw. Qualifying later is going to be more than just a little advantage. We need a little bit of speed. It's so hard to tell with these cars. We'll see what improvements we can make tomorrow on the Penske Dodge."
SAM HORNISH JR. (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger) Qualified 29th
"Our Mobil 1 Dodge was pretty good in practice, but just terrible in qualifying. It was just too tight. It's the second year in a row that finished practice in qualifying trim, but just a little bit free for qualifying. We need to figure out something different to do for when we come back here next year that's for sure. The good news is that our Mobil 1 Dodge was pretty good in practice and we have something to work with tomorrow for Sunday."
REED SORENSON (No. 43 Siemens Dodge Charger) Qualified 42nd
"We just got real loose between Turns 1 and 2 trying to pick up some time on the second lap (the right rear of the 43 brushed the wall). I was doing everything I could to put down a good lap so we could get a good starting spot on Sunday. I want to go out strong as a thank you to all the guys on the 43 team, but I guess I was just trying a little too hard."
