Reed Sorenson (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger) Qualified 9th
"We ran 64 (31.64 seconds) which was about three-tenths faster than we were in practice. We made some changes to get a little bit closer to the 42 (setup) and they were good changes. I had a little bit of tire chatter for some reason. Other than that, I like our Target Dodge heading into the weekend."
Juan Pablo Montoya (No. 42 Wrigley's Dodge Charger) Qualified 11th
"It was an OK lap. Going out so early hurt us which is frustrating because we have such a good car. I don't think it will stick for the pole, but our Wrigley's Juicy Fruit Dodge was fast off the truck today"
Robby Gordon (No. 7 Jim Beam Dodge Charger) Qualified 14th
"Our lap was OK. I screwed up coming to the green. I got into the gas early and had to check up and it cost us two-tenths. I'm happy with where we are at on the qualifying board. Were working hard and our Dodge is running good. We'll see where we end up."
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE NASCAR TESTING POLICY? "It's the great equalizer for us. The new testing rule is the greatest equalizer that NASCAR has ever done. The COT was maybe halfway there, but eliminating the testing allows a single-car team like ours to use all our notes and data we've accrued and closes the gap with the multi-car teams."
Kasey Kahne (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger) Qualified 18th
"We caught a break with the cloud cover coming in at the right time which definitely helped our run. Our car felt really balanced, maybe just on the front splitter a little too much which slows the front tires down a bit. It we would have been off the splitter, I think we would have been a touch faster."
Chad McCumbee (No. 45 Marathon American Sprit Motor Oil Dodge Charger) Qualified 28th
"This qualifying is a tough deal. I missed a couple races by not being able to put the car in the field of 43 this year. To make the race here at Homestead is a blessing. These guys have worked their tails off to make us better. We have a ton of potential and we keep getting better and better. We had a great practice session and the car drives great. We'll work on some long runs tomorrow and try to get it faster for Sunday."
Ryan Newman (No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger) Qualified 29th
"I couldn't get the car to hook up in Turns 1 and 2 on the first lap. The second lap was better, but the first lap is where I really gave some time away."
Kurt Busch (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) Qualified 38th
"After having such a good practice session, I was really trying to go after the pole in our Miller Lite Dodge. The track just didn't have any grip. It (the track) got a lot slicker once the sun came out from where it was when we practiced. I just got into the corner too hard and she (the No. 2 Dodge) lid up the track between Turns 1 and 2. I just tried to regroup on the second lap and post a decent time."
