DAVID GILLILAND, YATES RACING
No. 38 Digital TV Transition Ford Fusion
David Gilliland on Homestead:
"I'm looking forward to going to Homestead this weekend because the track reminds me of Irwindale Speedway, which is a speedway back home in California that I grew up racing at. Homestead allows you to run the bottom, middle, or tops lines and I just have enjoyed racing there the few chances I've had so far. This weekend's Ford Championship Weekend is the last race of the season and you want to always finish the year out on the best result possible. The track is going to change a lot during Sunday's race going from late afternoon into the night, so we have to make sure that we have built adjustability into our car so that we can change our set-ups as the tracks conditions change. I'm really excited for this weekend with our final race of the season in our Digital TV Transition Ford."
Crew chief Cully Barraclough on Homestead:
"This is our last opportunity of the season to get a solid finish and to end the year strong. We've had some hard luck the past month or so, but I feel that the car we're bringing with us this weekend is probably our best car from this season. Every update that we've had come through our program this season is on this weekend's car, so I feel that this is truly the best car we've had come out of our shop for us to drive at a 1.5-mile track. We're looking for a good qualifying run as well as a great race run to get us a good finish Sunday evening."
