Pressley resigns from Hedrick Motorsports

STATESVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 3, 1998) Kodiak Chevrolet crew chief Charley Pressley today announced his resignation from Larry Hedrick Motorsports.

He will take a couple of weeks off before exploring other options.

"My experience with Larry Hedrick Motorsports has been positive and upbeat and has advanced my career, and I am grateful," Pressley said. "A change needed to be made for both our interests."

Team owner Larry Hedrick said Pressley deserves much of the credit for what the team has accomplished in the last two seasons.

"Charley Pressley has taken Larry Hedrick Motorsports to a higher level and we will miss him," Hedrick said. "He brought us our two Winston Cup pole positions in 1996, and the highest finishes of our career. We wish Charley and his wife Alison the best of luck. Wherever he goes, he will be a tremendous asset."
